Vacancy: Warehouse Assistant - Bury St Edmunds

We are a successful independent data-driven marketing, direct mail and ecommerce company, with more than 25 years’ experience delivering business solutions to an extensive client base, including some well-known household names.

We now have a vacancy for a Warehouse Assistant, to assist with the receipt, storage and despatch of print-related materials and e-commerce goods on behalf of clients across our two carbon-neutral sites in Bury St Edmunds. 

About your work day:

  • Receipt, storage, movement and despatch of a range of goods and materials
  • Adhering to quality control, regulatory storage and stock handling procedures
  • Processing of stock control and inventory records (manual and computerised)
  • Monitoring warehouse capacity and managing warehouse space safely and effectively
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies by email, phone and in person
  • Developing operational protocols and contributing to risk assessments
  • Planning and contributing to the maintenance of mechanical lifting equipment
  • Working on our production fulfilment lines on an ad hoc basis

About you:

  • Previous experience of warehousing and stock management and understanding of safe warehousing procedures and health and safety practices would be advantageous
  • Current forklift licence, to include counterbalance and bendi/flexi tests obtained within the last 3 years, would be a string advantage
  • High level of competence with warehousing machinery
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic IT skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail

Hours are 8:30-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30-4:30pm on Friday, with some flexibility to work occasionally outside these hours in order to meet client/customer needs.
